Six wheelchair accessible apartments providing disabled holidays in a converted and renovated cotton mill, that dates from the 1880’s on the banks of the River Jaudy. Purpose built for accessibility.
These apartments are now open for business. Large, low windows allow wheelchair users a good view of the river at the bottom of the garden and the perfect sunset we seem to get every night.
All apartments have two bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other with two
An open plan kitchen, dining area and lounge. The disabled accessible bathroom is probably the most important room in each apartment (judging from the questions we get!) All have disabled
friendly level access showers with wheeled shower chairs and there is enough space for all pieces of equipment that may be required.
Built over three floors the property has been fitted with a lift making wheelchair access a breeze.
Every apartment has the following features
Hard floor tiles. Accessible layout. Level access showers. Internet access. UK Television. Shower chairs. Alarm call system. Grab rails. Raised toilet
General features found in and around the building
Lift to all floors. Off road parking
No steps at all on site. Well lit access. Huge terrace. Fantastic location.
Children’s play area. BBQ area. 1 acre garden.
All the apartments can accommodate up to six people, for larger families we do have spare mattresses, etc. If you do have a larger family or wish to accommodate a group please do ask for more information, we are always willing to offer discounts for multiple bookings and also can advise you what the best scenario is for you.
The kitchens are fully fitted, with a washing machine, cooker, hob, microwave and all the usual gadgets and utensils that you would expect. In the open plan lounge/diner there is a corner sofa, satellite TV, DVD and surround sound system. The dining area has a large table and chairs and in some of the apartments you will have Internet access with your own PC. (The larger apartments 1,3 and 6). For the smaller apartments (2 and 4) there is a communal PC available 24/7 for you to use.
Tourist information, a local notice board and a large well stocked library of books and games are situated in the communal hallway. If you want to read something by all means do, if you don't finish it you can take it away with you, all we ask is that you leave a book.
There is a large, 'fairly' wheelchair accessible garden available for those lazy summer evenings. The garden has been maturing over the past twelve months and is lovely, lush and green, this ensures a safe environment for all, with a children’s play area, and enough room to play wheelchair football. There is also a terrace, with garden furniture, sun loungers and a BBQ, ideal for eating, or just sitting out relaxing and watching the river lazily meandering its way at the bottom of the garden (as long as the tide is in.)
