SGN CHRISTMAS RAFFLE
Believe it or not amongst the 95 prizes donated they included £80 worth of Poulton Park vouchers, a Samsung camera, a man’s bike, Toshiba 40” TV, tins of chocolates, drink of all types, an organic hamper and other goodies too many to mention. The pictures below give some idea of the vast amount of selection.
This year it is with great pleasure that two very worthy causes have shared the £2,008.05 raised. The Samantha Dickson Brain Tumour Trust funds scientific and clinical research into childhood and adult brain tumours and offers support and information to patients and their carers.
In addition to supporting patients and carers they spend around £1 million per year on top quality research into brain tumours. Their current grants include clinical trials to test new treatments, the Samantha Dickson Brain Cancer Unit, the first dedicated research laboratory of its kind in the UK and a wide range of research projects, seeking to make breakthroughs in understanding diagnosing and treating brain tumours.
Our Vice Chairman Colin Godwin along with some friends, Chris Emery, Mo White and Steve Allen all did a cycle ride to raise funds for not only our branch but for the Friends of Forest Holme. They cycled 360 miles from Wareham to Conches en Ouche raising a fantastic sum of £2,0156.15 to each charity. This figure does not include the gift aid our Treasurer is going to add to the total.
Very many thanks go to Colin Chris Mo and Steve.
